There’s A Party Going On Right Here

Cupcake 1

I love any excuse to eat a cupcake…

For the Greater Goods is officially one year old! Wow. Honestly, where has the time gone? I can’t believe a year ago today I posted for the first time on For the Greater Goods. Although I created the blog in January, it wasn’t until February 19th that I worked up the courage to publish my first post and I am so glad I took that first step.

I’ve come a long way and learned an incredible amount about blogging and myself since then. I could go on and on about all the lessons I’ve learned, but I’ll spare everyone a novel length post. But one thing I do want to say is, thank you. And I don’t mean to get too sappy here, but words can’t describe how much your support means to me. I’ve taken on a mission to spread awareness and YOU are the reason I keep writing. And for that I thank you!

1. A lot of Super Bowl ads are coming out before the Super Bowl this year… which to me defeats the purpose. But anyway, if you haven’t see it yet, check out the domestic violence PSA that will air during Sunday’s game. The call in the video actually happened. It will leave you speechless.

2. Ellen’s birthday was this week. The 26th of January to be exact. I love Ellen and her mission “be kind to one another”. I think she is a wonderful human being. So here are some classic Ellen quotes that prove she’s the best.

3. Oh just your typical man-rescues-sick-lion-cub-nurses-her-back-to-health-then-teaches-her-to-hunt story.

4. Like beer? Drink Stella! Responsibly of course. Stella Artois has partnered with water.org to bring awareness to the global water crisis with their ‘Buy a Lady a Drink’ campaign. Bonus points for the clever name.

5. Check out these cute rescued lab animals photographed in Alice in Wonderland scenes. How can you do your part to stop animal testing? Make sure you buy cruelty free cosmetics. Every little bit of effort helps.
